Local Area Network(LAN) with Cat5 crossover cable configuration settings

Open Network Connections in Control Panel. Open the properties for TCP/IP. Open the Property sheet or your Local Area Connection.
Give the first PC the following:

IP Address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Give the second the following:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

To ensure connectivity, open a command prompt window and use a ping command as follows:

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Where X = the other PC's IP address

If you can ping properly both ways, you're connected.

*P/S:Both of the two computer shoud have under the same group name. In the Local Area Connection Properties u can enable Qos Packet Scheduler and File and Printer Sharing ON.If you still not able to connect, then you can check the windwos firewall.
