Sony C-Series

Sonys marketing people explain that the "C" in C-Series stands for "choice", "color", "cosmopolitan", and "chic" and according to an announcement made today, the new laptops will be available in silver, pink, green, grey, and black by the end of November. Each model also comes with a matching color carrying case.

"With the C-Series, Sony is injecting life and colour into the world of mobile notebooks," said Jun Koyama, marketing director of Sony Vaio of Europe. "People have become increasingly conscious of their individual lifestyles and the choices they make to enhance their quality of life."

Each model is equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 1 GB of DDR2 SDRAM. Additionally, depending on the model, either a 100 GB or 120 GB hard disk drive is included. Also standard is a dual layer DVD±RW/RAM drive.

The laptops have a 13.3" widescreen display at a resolution of 1280 x 800 WXGA. Higher-end models come with an Nvidia Geforce 7400 graphics processor, while base models include an Intel 945GM Express with Graphics Media Accelerator 950.

The silver and black C-Series laptops, which will begin shipping on 24 October, are available for pre-order now, at prices between $1350 and $1550.
