Sandick Sansa c200 MP3 Player

Sandisk today introduced the latest addition to its line of MP3 players with the Sansa c200, which supports WMA and MP3 playback, an FM tuner, and a built-in microphone for audio recording in Germany. Equipped with up to 2 GB of flash memory in a standard configuration, the capacity can be expanded with MicroSD cards.

The player sports a bright 1.4" LCD color screen to display album, artist, and song information. It can also display digital photos, which allows users to view a slideshow of pictures while music files play in the background. Through a high speed USB 2.0 connection, files can be transferred directly to and from virtually any computer.

The c200 is available with flash memory of both 1 GB and 2 GB. With the microSD slot, that can be expanded by as much as 2 GB, bringing the potential capacity of the player to 4 GB.

The c200, much like SanDisk's previous e200 models, is very sleek, measuring 1.3" x 3.1" x .6", and weighing in at only 1.5 ounces (with battery). Like most SanDisk players, the c200 is compatible with Windows PlaysForSure, so it can play from subscription services like Rhapsody, Yahoo Music, and Napster. The c200 is surprisingly affordable, with the 1GB model to retail for $80, and the 2GB version for $100. Both will be available in the U.S. and Europe in October, with rollout to other regions planned thereafter.

Also recently announced from SanDisk is what they are calling the world's largest capacity flash memory MP3 player, the e280. With a 1.8" TFT screen and 8 GB of memory, it can fit approximately 2,000 MP3 songs out of the box. The e280 also has a MicroSD memory card slot, meaning it can store up to 10 GB worth of digital media.

The $250 e280 can display image and video files as well, which is facilitated through the Sansa Media Converter. It also has a digital FM tuner, voice recording, and USB 2.0 compatibility.
