BlogExplosion Sold Out

Welcome the new management, Stephen Sartain, to BlogExplosion. Now with the new management, I wish Blogexplosion grows much bigger and much success on the years ahead.

Below are the excerpt on the special release news i received in my mail..

1. BlogExplosion has been sold

We are pleased to announce that BlogExplosion has been sold to Stephen Sartain and a group of private investors this weekend. We had competitive bids all through last week and finally was decided on Saturday afternoon.

Stephen has bought two sites from us previously with great results and has extensive experience running sites like BlogExplosion. Our final closing price was in the six figures and well beyond our minimum bid of $100,000. We also want to extend a huge thanks to Jeremy Wright for doing an amazing job brokering the sale of BlogExplosion for us.

This will be my last post on helpmeblog.com as Lewis aka Orangehairedboy (one of our lead developers) will be taking over as we make the transition to the new ownership group.

There are a flurry of new features already scheduled to launch over the next few weeks as the development group has been working this whole time in preparation for the change. BlogExplosion will be launching BE Experts where experienced members will be helping new members with any problems they might come across, a new support ticket system will be implemented, tutorials will be updated for newbies and the blog approval system will be re-vamped as well. This will make it easier for members to get the information they need on a timely basis and make BlogExplosion a friendlier site to use.

Now that the new management team is in place, BlogCharm will now confirm sponsors and advertising deals that will be shared by all participating members. BE will also look to offer value-added services such as podcasting hosting with a deal close at hand and other features that will make an immediate impact moving forward as well.

Thomas and myself will be taking a short break now that BlogExplosion has been sold and then looking at new projects that we will be launching by the end of the summer.

BlogExplosion has definitely been a very rewarding and interesting experience since we launched back in September 2004. We never imagined that BE would become so popular or develop such a devout following. We leave BlogExplosion as one of the leading blog communities on the internet and a top blog destination website. We want to thank all of our members for the support and encouragement to keep us going each day as we met some truely amazing people along the way. There is no way we could have done it without our loyal members and again a sincere thanks to everyone that were always there for us.

Congratulations Steve and group and we wish you the best of luck in the future! Blogosphere out!

4. A sincere thanks and good-bye

Well as I mentioned previously, my final post was made to helpmeblog today and this will be last email that I write out to all of you. That means no more typos and grammatical gaffs to suffer through -- Note to self -- Use SPELLCHECKER from now on..

BlogExplosion has been an interesting experience to say the least...

Bloggers are hyper-communicators and they are definitely the first people to share their feelings and opinions. We have seen both the worst and best of the blogosphere and in my final words I want share my thoughts on that.

Blogging is a wonderful communications tool where people can interact with each other anywhere in the world. I have seen countless generous and friendly people use blogging as the way it should be used... People helping each other, people supporting each other and spending the time to make other people feel good about themselves. Bravo! I tip my hat to the people that make blogging such a pleasure.

I have also seen some bloggers unfortunately that do nothing else but be nasty by leaving terrible comments that have no other purpose than to hurt other people. When a mom just has a new baby and you see negative comments left, I often wondered what went through that persons head to leave such nasty comments to a new mom starting a new family?

How many times have you seen somebody leave terrible comments about a blog that somebody did not care for? Is it too much to ask for people to leave constructive suggestions rather than ripping apart a blog?

Is that what blogging is about? I appreciate the freedom of speech, but I also appreciate people being civil with each other. If you have nothing good to say, then maybe it is best to say nothing sometimes....

BlogExplosion has seen lots of hate postings itself since day one. I note that some of it is warranted as we certainly have evolved and matured since we launched, but when you see outright lies and personal attacks, I wonder if some people out there have nothing better to do than try to destroy something or people out there. Is this what blogging is all about ?

Frustating as that may be to observe, there is so many good things about blogging and the people behind those blogs......

Bloggers are amazing people. BlogExplosion has some of the most loyal and helpful members that we could have ever asked for. We are very fortunate to have some of the members we do and Thomas and myself thank you for that.

I can honestly say we have tried our best with BlogExplosion by working as hard as we could to come up with new features every couple of weeks and keep all of you entertained. Some features were great and very popular, while some of them were not... but we tried to always improve BE for you.

I want to thank our moderators and people that have helped us since we launched BlogExplosion. People largely did this in their free time and helping other members out. I am happy to see many of you will be working with the new management group and we hope that you keep the spirit of BlogExplosion alive.

It will strange to wake up in the morning and not approve new blogs or not log into BlogExplosion each day. We will be around helping the new owners out with suggestions while making the transition and I am very confident the new management group will make some amazing changes to the site.

BlogExplosion continues to grow quickly. Last week we averaged well over 100 new sign-ups a day and almost 1000 new blog submissions. New changes are around the corner and I think the new ownership group will bring lots of new energy and ideas to BlogExplosion to make it even better!

Fight the good fight. Be kind to other bloggers as they are real people behind those blogs... Do the blogosphere good and do your part to keep blogging a friendly place to interact with other people.

This has been an emotional last couple of weeks for us as we knew this day would come eventually. It will be difficult to walk away from BE, but I know the new owners are going to do us proud. Taking over BlogExplosion is a huge job and I hope that everyone rallies around the new team.

I cant expressive how much we appreciate everyone that has stuck with us since day one. There were some days we wanted to simply turn off the site, but you kept us going.

We extend a deep heart-felt thanks to everyone for everything that you have taught us along the way and we wish everyone nothing but success and happiness in the future.

Sincerely
Thomas and Jeff
:-)
